Sarah Hayes just out of reach as she goes to score another try.

The women showed up Saturday morning to a sun filled pitch, and the expectation they were going to be playing a social against maple ridge, however as girls started warming up it was soon made known that this was going to be a league game. With that in mind the girls started getting their heads into the game.

Immediately after kick off Ridge scored a try up the sideline, giving the rowers a quick slap to remind them, that they had a game to win. Promptly after, the women got their heads together. Sarah Hayes scored the first try of the game off a forward crash, followed by Sel Barnard running up the sideline for the second try.

Despite showing up to the pitch expecting a friendly, the Rower women brought the heat, scoring 10 tries in the first half, and 4 in the second. Lexis Mok, and Robyn Smith we’re stealing balls left and right in the lineouts, which made getting the ball out to the backs easy, where we used that winger speed.

The women were incredibly happy with the end score of 76 to 5. At the end of the game it all came down to teamwork and the hard-work that’s being done at training. The women who scored the tries of the day were Barnard with x2, Gannon with x3, Wallace with x2, Kerianne Magee with x2, Robynne Shannon x2, and Hayes with x2, and Victoria Carriquirborde x1
