Rower Ladies returned to action on Saturday for their second game in six weeks for the second half. Scribes would start the game off strong, coming out on relentless attacks from the outside. Despite Scribes hitting the score board first the Rowers would not give up.
These girls have come along way for being a first year team and most girls have never played rugby before, Kira Langer had a dominant performance in her first game with the red and white, showing great leadership qualities and keeping the rowers spirits alive throughout the game. Even though through the game Scribes would outscore the Rowers 46-12 the defensive game of the Rowers has grown exponentially.

Abbey Doucet had a dominant performance this game on both ends of the field. She tackled everything that came her way and throwing her minuscule frame around with complete disregard for her own personal safety. Abbey would also assist in the first try of the game for the Rowers.
Mikiela Nelson would start the scoring off for the Rowers blasting through girls, and breaking the line. Nelson is no stranger to scoring tries this season as she is one of the Rowers top try scorers.
The Rowers also saw strong plays from our teams most fragile players -Madison “glass” MacLeod and Samantha “porcelain” Quigao- Both finished the game with no serious injuries.
Scribes continued the game with hard hits and fast runs and outnumbered the Rowers in most rucks but the Rowers still stuck it to them. Chanelle Crump would take the brunt of the Scribes hard hits and a few high tackles but every time she went down she would get back up just as fast.
Late in the second half Rowers would add another try to the board as Chantalle Bracken had a great line break and fending off two players to score under the posts, then adding two more points as she converted her own kick. In the dying minutes of the game Mhairianne McKeeve had a solid 30 meter run showing her strength and aggression (Even with a dime size hole in her foot).
Rowers look too keep their skills building and will face Quest University on March 17th at Brockton Oval, Kick off at 11:15.
